New York City Bomb Suspect Identified

The suspect in Monday morning's explosion in a subway tunnel near Manhattan's Port Authority Bus Terminal has been identified by authorities.

Akayed Ullah, 27, is an immigrant from Bangladesh who has an address in Brooklyn.

Law enforcement officials say Ullah attached a pipe bomb-like device to his body with velcro and zip ties. The device exploded in a subway tunnel, injuring Ullah and three other people.

Ullah suffered serious but "non-life threatening" injuries, including lacerations and burns. He was reported conscious when he arrived at Manhattan's Bellevue Hospital.

The incident was captured on surveillance video in the corridor.

Officials say Ullah made statements to police.

The victims suffered minor injuries and were able to leave the scene on their own power to be treated at local hospitals.
